Q: I am a subscriber and I see the new issue of Barracuda on the website. But I haven't received this issue. Did you forget about me? or Q: I saw the new issue on sale at a store. Why don't I have my copy? Did you forget about me? A: We did not forget about you. The website is updated with the latest issue while that issue is on its way to subscribers via bulk mail. The issue will take somewhere between 10 days to 4 weeks to get to you, depending on where you are located geographically. It is very difficult for us to give a specific date for when any one subscriber will be receiving their issue because so many factors (weather, Xmas mail slow-downs, the number of issues being mailed to your geographic area -- and now airline difficulties and mail security concerns in the wake of the WTC attacks and anthrax malarkey) affect the in-transit time of your issue. Also, the onsale date of the magazine is the date it is scheduled to appear in stores, which, unfortunately, is sooner than it will appear in a subscriber's mailbox. The magazine is shipped right out to distributors as soon as we get it back from the printer. Sometimes, it can get to some of the stores we deal direct with within a day or two of coming back from the printer's. However, the subscriber issues have to be prepared for bulk mailing -- a complicated, tedious and time-consuming process that usually takes about 2 days just to prepare after we get distributor copies shipped. We are not slackers and we are very, very well-organized. We didn't forget about you! Q: Isn't there a faster way to get my issue to me? A: If we sent subscriptions first class, the cost of subscriptions would increase by two times or more. We are considering offering the option of first class subscriptions, but it would be pretty expensive and it seems unlikely that it would really get the issue to you any faster, since each copy would have to be individually prepared, rather than being prepared with our mass mailing. Also, please allow 4-6 weeks for mail orders and website orders to get to you. We make every effort to get them to you in less time than that, but this is the best turnaround time we can promise. Q: I have a subscription, but I didn't get an issue this month. Did you forget about me? A: Barracuda is not published monthly. It is published three times a year, so you will not be getting an issue every month. Issues are released roughly in mid-March, mid-July and early-November of each year. Q: Can you send me a free sample copy so I can check out the magazine before ordering a subscription? A: Sorry. That's what the website is for -- to provide you with a sampling of what the magazine is all about. You can order a single copy via our online newsstand with a minimal outlay of cash or you can go thumb thru the mag at your local Tower or Borders. Q: I like Barracuda and I'm a girl. How do I become a Barracuda Girl model? A: Click on the "be a Barracuda Girl" link at the top of this page for all of the info. Q: Do you do record reviews or band interviews? or Did you get the cd our record label sent? When will it be reviewed? A: Sorry. We don't cover music at all. The magazine's pretty jam-packed as it is without adding music and there are already a lot of music magazines out there. If you are trying to get your band reviewed or interviewed, The Grindstone, Gearhead, Blue Suede News or Car Kulture Deluxe would be better trees to bark up. Q: What were the final standings for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the 1993-94 season? A: 1993-94 Final Standings: |
