The '32 Ford featured on our cover features very spartan and clean exterior styling. But under the hood, this hi-boy boasts a fantastically clean and polished flathead, bored out .80.

The car also has a nice bit of history attached to it. Riveted to its dash is the official SCTA certificate from a run it took at Rosemond Dry Lakes over 60 years ago. The plate states that the car ran 108.65 mph and was then owned by Emil Greener.

Running on bias-ply tires, this hi boy rides a little fast and loose, but it's a small price to pay in order to maintain its '40s-era hot rod styling.

This car is no trailer queen, either. It is regularly driven all over Southern California, and even out through the desert to Viva Las Vegas.
